Clean Yellow Fleets for Blue Skies Program: 2003-2005

Recognition Banquet

Since 2004 the Regional Air Quality Council (RAQC) has been working with 14 Front Range school districts on a school bus emissions reduction project.  The RAQC and its partners secured $1.35 million to invest in this local project.   The program completed installations of retrofit equipment in December 2005.  The program successfully retrofit 1,100 school buses throughout the Front Range and used a lower-polluting biodiesel fuel to power the buses. 

In celebration of the program’s success, the RAQC organized a recognition banquet for all of the school districts and program partners.  Awards were distributed to each program participant and partner.  A RAQC board member and a third-grader from one of the participating school districts were the key note speakers.  The banquet was a great event to bring participants together and highlight their efforts.  Photos from the banquet are below:
