In 2003, Clean Air Fleets partnered with a handful of local government and public works fleets to explore simple, cost-effective strategies to reduce diesel emission and unnecessary idling. Today, the program expanded to a majority of local government fleets in the seven-county metro area. Hundreds of pieces of equipment have been installed and education programs creating awareness of diesel issues have been implemented. A list of partners is noted below.

Eligible vehicles include Class 8 tractors, trash trucks, dump trucks, water trucks, graders, school buses, etc. greater than 14,500 GVW.
Interested fleets must operate in the seven county metro Denver area or along the Colorado Front Range. Please contact the Regional Air Quality Council (RAQC) to determine if your fleet is eligible for funding.
RAQC is currently taking applications for retrofit. In most cases, a 20% match on equipment prices is required to participate in the program. Match is commonly met though fleet in-kind staff time installing equipment, handling program invoicing, moving vehicles, etc. Fleets may also provide match by paying for a portion of the equipment.
